More about the history that inspired the space
Venice feels like it’s in the heart of the city now, but in the early days it was an isolated resort town 12 miles away from the civilization of Los Angeles. Once only a place visited by an adventurous few, the addition of the Redline streetcar brought people from all over the city to Venice—growing the population from around 3,000 to over 100,000 on weekends. The same streetcars also brought the entrepreneurs, visionaries, and workers who helped make Venice a reality, many of whom were part of the Black, Latin, Asian communities.
